A STUDY ON MICRO-CREDIT AND SHG LINKAGES
The study brings out the existing pattern of linkage between the Self Help Groups (SHGs) and the Financial Institutions and looks at the alternative strategies to strengthen the SHG movement in the form of new linkages. The study highlights the need to establish direct linkage between the SHG Federations and the Apex financial institution. It is opined that there is a need to eliminate the chain of intermediaries in order to enhance the strength of SHGs.
